Ok so recently I’ve been losing myself in this game. I played and loved the original, which is still available on steam – https://store.steampowered.com/app/48700/Mount__Blade_Warband/
The fact that I have lost over 300 hrs playing this potentially shows how good it is – below is a quote of my Steam review
So normally I look for 1 hours entertainment per pound spent. As you can see over 200hrs of play, still enjoying it.
So why the delay in the review – well its because to enjoy it I have been heavily dependent on the modding community, and I am currently running over 12 mods. These fill in the depth yet to be added to the game.
So I say yes it is good – but to get longevity explore the community created mods.

- Settlement Icons – adds icons on map mode settlements to identify quests

- Simple Bank – adds a simple bank which supports transfers and pays interest
- Distinguished Service – provides a method where Soldiers in your army can be proposed to be made companions following non simulated battles.
- Succession – enables multiple forms of succession to be chosen
- Attributes Matter – enhances the impact of attribute scores on events
- Improved Garrisons – Enables automation of settlement garrison recruitment, training and patrolling
- Bandit Militias – provides a mechanic where brigands and looters club together and create larger armies led by named heroes
- Party Screen Enhancements – adds sorting options to troop lists in party screen
- Kaoses Tweaks – multiple game enhancements – read the related posts
- Party AI Overhaul and Commands – provides an interface friendly way to give your companion parties orders
- RTS Camera – provides an RTS like view on battles
- Adopt Into Family – enable the adoption of companions into your family – really good in sandbox games
