My order from LBMS arrived and I started to prepare the shields for placement on my Gripping Beast models. Now as you will be aware from other posts my eyesight is not what it was and I can be a little cack handed, so unsurprisingly I was struggling to neatly cut out the shields. I did some forum crawling and found a range of suggestions.
Then the bright idea – what I need is a hole punch like my mother uses in her paper crafting- much searching later and … nope no one makes hole size specific round hole punches – I can get all sorts of random shapes- but no size specific round ones.
A bit more internet searching and I found.
A range of size specific hollow hole punches for a reasonable price – now having seen some on sale where 1 was £5 .. the good value hunter in me really liked this offering. Ordered them – they arrived – now how well do they work
As you can see really quite well, it does take a little getting use to to place it correctly, I did need a concrete floor to use them on – although later I used the cutting board visible in the video to save blunting the punch – But 1, 2, 3 hits and your done.
Hope this is helpful. I must say once they were cleanly cut I found applying the shields was really smooth going and a pleasure to see the results – the models are currently drying from their final varnish so I will share images later.
