On a bleak moor – the vanguards of an Anglo Dane army and Viking raiding force, met. Both leaders declared it to be a good day to die, although cautiously approached this.
The Anglo-Danes held a grudge against the Viking warlord and marked him for death that day, whilst the Vikings view the Anglo-Dane Hearth Guards as traitors to the true god who too must perish.

The viking VanGuard was formed by the Warlord, 2 * 4 man Hearth Guards, 1 * 8 man warrior unit and 12 levy armed with valelins.

Against then the Anglo-Danes brought a single 8 man Hearth-Guard unit, 8 Warriors and 12 bow armed levy alongside their Warlord.

During turn 1 – both warlords manoeuvred their forces forward, the Anglo-danes worked to skirt the woods with their Levy to be able to bring their bows to bear on the Viking Hearth Guard, the viking Warlord used the woods to shield his forces from the Anglo-dane ranged troops.

Turn 2 – saw the Anglo-Danes continue to push forward looking to take out their Target. The Vikings also move forward but continue to use the woods the shield their forces against the Anglo-Dane bows, the Warlord entered the wood in preparation for the assaults to come.

Turn 3 – The anglo-danes continue to manoeuvre their levy round their right, and brought their warriors forward to support their Hearth Guards, the warlord moved forward as well. The viking levy moved forward and loosed their javelins into the Anglo-Dane HearthGuards

Turn 4 – saw the Anglo-Dane Archers pepper the wood with arrows, however the woods protected the Hearth Guard. Next the Anglo Dane HearthGuard charged and pushed the vikings back. The Viking levy charged the anglo dane warriors, to very poor results, having to fall back, after high casualties. The remaining viking hearth guard charged and failed to repel the Danes from the wood. The viking warlord then threw himself at them and repelled them from the wood but exhausted himself in the process.

Turn 5 – the last turn of battle saw the Danish Warlord charge the Viking warlord and kill him. his bowmen fired upon the remaining Viking Hearth Guards. The vikings in return used their levy to remove the remaining Danish Hearth Guards and threw their Hearth Guards and Warriors against the Danish Warlord to revenge their warlord, killing him and increasing the blood in the woods.

The Battle ended with the vikings winning on Massacre points, many legends and SAGAs of the brave who died will be written and sung.
