Let me share with you my first foray into 28mm Western wargaming. Picked up the Dead Mans Hand Starter set from Great Escape Games. As I understand it the rules are originally from Studio Tomahawk who also created SAGA, and Great Escape Games have the license for the English Translation Big thanks to Great Escape Games for correcting my understanding – they are the originators of Dead Mans Hand and Studio Tomahawk has the license for the French translation, my apologies to Great Escape Games for any issues this may have caused.
The rules look fun, but going to be a while before I get to try them as I need to work on the terrain. I have decided to create a set of terrain that can be used for this game and also Napoleonic era Muskets and Tomahawks era (Shakos and Bayonets) (Another Studio Tomahawk Game). Working on building a Peninsular era and Central American themed terrain set.
In the mean while I have painted my first 5 figures and I thought I’d share these with you, these are all build using the Plastic Gunfighters boxed sets from Great Escape Games.
Will be working on more soon.
