Bloodbowl 7’s: Redrafting my team for new season

As the start of the new WnW Bloodbowl Seven’s season approaches I thought I’d share the process of redrafting a team.

Now the league ended last year with my Khorne team in 3rd place

At the end of the Season my Khorne team, had Sacked 2 players, had 3 players Die and 1 was promoted to the next league. My Roster looked like.

The rules for re-Drafting a team for a new season are on Page 99 of the Bloodbowl Rule Book, the only differences from the information provided there that the Wnw In-house League makes are to standardise costs to Bloodbowl 7 standards and limit the initial funds to 600K.

So lets see how much cash I have available

Redraft Funds ElementValue GP
Base Budget600,000
Team Treasury40,000
League Position Bonus20,000
20K per Fixtures Won Last Season120,000
10K per Fixture Drawn Last Season60,000
Total840,000

So thats an extra 240,000 over the base not a bad start point, however my total team value at the end of last Season was 1,020,000 so there are going to have to be some cuts.

The re-roll the team had last season was a prize that only lasted the season, so if I want one this season I’ll have to buy a new one.

I think I’ll keep my Fan Factor at 5 as this will quickly pay for itself – so 80K committed.

I’ll Keep my Assistant Coach – so thats another 20K committed.

That leaves me with 740K to spend on my players.

At the end of last season 4 of my players had not earned any SPP so there is very little point in paying the extra 20K agents fee to redraft them, – so Bye Bye CoCo 3, Craackle, Loopy Bee 2 and Cornelius. thats 220K of the savings needed. That leaves a team with 6 players, so not a legal team and I would need to pay 120K in agents fees if I wished to bring them all. Toucan Sam had gained the “Iron Hard Skin” mutation – this negates the benefit of Claws for opposition players, personally I don’t think the extra 30K, 10K for the skill and 20K to the Agent, is worthwhile – so Bye bye Toucan sam. I am now down to 5 players, and have reduced the team value by 280K.

The remaining players have a combined value of £540 and the agents fees for them would be 100K, I could afford this but I would still have a team of only 5 players and would need to use journeymen for the first few matches to have at least 7 players.

I have 4 players with 2 skills

  • Pop has Strip Ball and Foul Appearance
  • Bran Man has Kick and Tentacles
  • Milton the Toaster has Guard and Mighty Blow(+1)
  • The Mighty Dr k has Multiple Block and Strip Ball.

Snap 2 only has 1 Skill ( which needs to be rolled for) – The Commissionaire Ref generated the dice rolls for me to keep this fair and he ended up with the Mutation Claws – now that I believe is worth Keeping for 60K +20K agents fee

I am going to keep the Mighty Dr K his multiple block is a great skill and worth the extra – so he uses up 190K + 20K agents fee a massive 210K.

Also Milton the Toaster with his Mighty Blow and Guard was a great asset last year, so he will also be staying, at a cost of 130K+20K agents fee.

This means including Agents fees I have spent £540K for the 3 players I have chosen to keep, my Fan Factor and Assistant coach – this leaves me with 300K.

To fill out the team I have chosen to get 2 new Kornigors at 70K each and 3 more Line men at 50K costing a total of 290K leaving 10K in the treasury to start the season.

The final team Roster looks like this:-

I created this blog as a place to discuss Mental health issues. I chose to include Music ,PC Gaming videos and more recently tabletop gaming as all of these have helped with the management of my Mental Health and I thought people who find the Blog for these may also find the Mental Health resources useful. I am aware that a lot of people with Mental Health concerns are not aware that this is what they have or how to go about getting help, I know I was one of these people for at least 10 years. Therefore if one person is helped by the content on my Blog, if one person discovers the blog and gets a better understanding of Mental Health through the videos I post, then all the work will have been worthwhile. If not.. well I am enjoying making the videos and writing the blog, and doing things I enjoy helps my mental health so call it a self serving therapy.
