Last post I showed you my painted figures from the Warlord Games Fallschirmjäger Germans Box set.. then I thought well thats all nice and well but what does that allow me to put on table, so this time I’ll take you through a few lists creatable from the painted figures.
So at the end of build and painting I ended up with the following mix of figures
- 14 Fallschirmjäger armed with Rifles
- 3 of these also had Panzerfaust
- 1 has LMG ammo around neck
- 1 has a box of LMG ammo
- 6 Fallschirmjäger armed with SMG
- 1 with an officers hat
- 1 with LMG ammo around his neck
- 4 Fallschirmjäger with MG 34
- 6 Fallschirmjäger armed with FG42
- 1 also has a PanzerFaust
- 1 also has an officers hat
- 4 Fallschirmjäger with Panzer Faust
- 1 with FG42
- 3 with Rifle
I know that adds up to more than 30 (number of figures in the box) – but that is because some have 2 core weapons (I blame the Panzer Fausts).
So from this what type of force can I build for early war?. So all troops with Panzer Faust and FG42 have to be excluded so that excludes 9 figures leaving 21.
From this I can put together – a – 499 pts force – using the basic Re-inforced Platoon from the core rule book.
Not a bad 5 dice list – great Starter list.
Ok so lets roll time forward to Mid-War – what can I bring to the table from this set? Using the Fallschirmjager Squad (Italy, 1943) from the Italy: Soft Underbelly (page 92) campaign book. – Including the FG42- I can get a 635 Pts Force.
Ok now lets move to Late war – Using the Fallschimjager Regiment 6 list from the D-Day US Sector Campaign book- I can get a 652 pts list-
So that is 3 reasonable lists from 1 Box of Figures to cover the whole war :-).
Next on my painting board are still some Partisans and a new Bloodbowl Team, but I may repeat this process with some of the other WW2 box sets I have painted recently.
