Dead Man’s Hand: Rogues’ Gallery – Dolores Wood

So far I have looked at Maeve Newton and Calamity Jane, lastly for now we have Dolores Wood. I have chosen to paint her with a facial scar, which she received when her father was murdered.

From the Store page Dolores Wood has the following write up.

Details

The daughter of a murdered rancher, Delores left her old life behind to re-write her own story. Where her journey is going or where it ends is unclear, but she has broken free of her passive nature and is becoming at home with the violent reality of Dead Man’s Hand.

Dolores “levels up” if she receives a picture card or ace as her initiative card.

She starts with the Stage 1 ability: Reveries.

Abilities are cumulative as Dolores levels up.

Great escape games (Yep there is a spelling mistake here)

She costs 4 Rep to add to a gang, and has starting stats similar to a standard Dude. As her write up says, each time she receives an Ace or picture card her abilities level up, not only that so do her stats, by level 3 she has the stats of a Boss, but of course to get there you need to give her 2 Aces/Picture cards for initiative during the game.

Her level 1 ability is “Reveries” – this allows an unactivated Delores to Burn her activation in order to avoid going out of action.

Level 2 is “These Violent Delights” – this can be used once per turn and as an oddity it can be chosen to be used at any time to enable Delores to temporarily get the stat of an opposition character with in 20cm, she gets that value for the rest of the turn.

Level 3 is “There’s a Path for Everyone” – again once per turn and at any point during the turn all friendly characters within 20cm of Delores can use one of her stats for the rest of the turn, remember by this level Delores also has the stats of a boss so this is very powerful.

So as we have seen each of the Rogues has a slightly different mechanic and as such will have different impact on play. I look forward to trying these out and also encountering the other Rogues.

Don’t forget that to date there are 14 available each have hints to their abilities on their relevant store page.

I created this blog as a place to discuss Mental health issues. I chose to include Music ,PC Gaming videos and more recently tabletop gaming as all of these have helped with the management of my Mental Health and I thought people who find the Blog for these may also find the Mental Health resources useful. I am aware that a lot of people with Mental Health concerns are not aware that this is what they have or how to go about getting help, I know I was one of these people for at least 10 years. Therefore if one person is helped by the content on my Blog, if one person discovers the blog and gets a better understanding of Mental Health through the videos I post, then all the work will have been worthwhile. If not.. well I am enjoying making the videos and writing the blog, and doing things I enjoy helps my mental health so call it a self serving therapy.
