So far I have looked at Maeve Newton, Calamity Jane, Dolores Wood and mentioned Doc Amos. This time I thought I’d introduce you to my take on one of the Rogues from the Legend of Dead Mans Hand – which expands the core rules with 4 more gangs and introduces a campaign system.

Let me introduce you to John Bridges – Great escape games do have a lovely miniature for this guy – originally I used their plastic set to make my own, but recently I was able to upgrade to the metal figure, and updated the images to match. So what does the rules have to say about John

P46 – The Legend of dead mans hand,Great escape games
There are many types of men who wear the badge of the U.S. Marshals and then there’s John Bridges.
He’s the meanest, he’s a pitiless man, double tough and fear don’t enter into his thinking. As he himself always says. “I never shot nobody I didn’t have to.”
He costs 6 Rep to add to a gang, and has starting stats similar to a gang leader. He is armed with a pistol and has 2 skills True Grit and Steady Hand.
TRUE GRIT – John suffers no negative modifiers for nerve test, nor for shooting for having under fire markers on him.
STEADY HAND – if John moves twice and fires, he does not suffer the -1 to shooting for moving twice.
If you buy the miniature you also get his special ACE card which replaces the gangs specific ACE card – alas I’ve not bought the miniature so I don’t know what this is.
Having been treated at Xmas I now have the actual model and card for John, so the real question is what does his special card bring –
- I NEVER SHOT NOBODY I DIDN’T HAVE TO – This card can be played at any time and for the rest of the turn John suffers no negative modifiers at all for shooting – yes you read that right NO NEGATIVE MODIFIERS – so I great card to combine with the Number six and have John move twice, shoot twice at long range for 2 shots at +1 (Johns standard skill)
