Dead Man’s Hand: Rogues’ Gallery – Jonathan Pain

So far I have looked at

Of the Rogues Gallery of heroes for Dead Mans Hand.

I recently purchased the DMH Down Under bundle – which comes with the Book, Card, Ned Kelly’s Gang, the Bushrangers, the State Police and 2 Rogues whose rules are in the book- these are Jonathan Pain and Roy Magnum.

Lets start with Jonathan Pain

So who is/was Jonathan Pain – now from what I can find out he is a Bounty Hunter created by Great Escape Games and is not based on any real person historic or living. Which I have to say was a bit of a disappointment for me as I was hoping to learn some additional history, however if you do fancy wetting your appetite prior to bringing the Aussies into you Dead Man’s Hand games – the link below from the British Film Institute provides some recommendations.

As I have treated myself to the “official” miniature I also have his special card, this again is a replacement ACE

  • LIGATURES AND KNOTS ARE ONE OF MY MANY TALENTS – must be played during Pains activation – it replaces one of his ACTIONS and results in any single enemy model with in 10cm becoming captured – i.e. out of action.

Jonathan is a REP 3 Character, with the standard stats for a 2 REP model but with a NERVE 1 better, he also has a special rule.

STERN CONSTITUTION – this is a skill I believe we have seen before – it allows Jonathon to automatically lose 1 under fire marker at the end of each turn.

He is a robust ROGUE whose card could be a game changer, with the ability to reduce his under fire every turn and a better than average NERVE value.

I created this blog as a place to discuss Mental health issues. I chose to include Music ,PC Gaming videos and more recently tabletop gaming as all of these have helped with the management of my Mental Health and I thought people who find the Blog for these may also find the Mental Health resources useful. I am aware that a lot of people with Mental Health concerns are not aware that this is what they have or how to go about getting help, I know I was one of these people for at least 10 years. Therefore if one person is helped by the content on my Blog, if one person discovers the blog and gets a better understanding of Mental Health through the videos I post, then all the work will have been worthwhile. If not.. well I am enjoying making the videos and writing the blog, and doing things I enjoy helps my mental health so call it a self serving therapy.
